What vegetable or fruit do you relate to most?

I'm a tomato.  Tomatoes come in all shapes and sizes, mostly round.  Some are longer than others, some are more wrinkled and then there are the cherry and grape tomatoes.  Lots of room for identity problems in being a tomato.  Room for diversity in being a tomato.

Did you know that calling a woman a tomato can be a good thing?  You can look it up!  It's also a slang term for a stupid person.  You can look that up as well.  Such a useful word and a useful plant.  I love tomatoes, but am not fond of ketchup.  Spaghetti sauce made from tomatoes is divine (HA!!) and tomatoes are wonderful in salads.

Tomatoes are basic, simple and prevalent.  Most anyone can grow a tomato, most everyone likes tomatoes.  I like being a tomato.

And when I wear a large red sweatshirt, I feel like a tomato.  Which is why I'm trying to lose weight....

The scientific name also means the wolf-peach which is kind of cool.

Ketchup is very good if homemade - though not bright red and full of sugar.

It is said that in the US they were first only eaten by the well educated. The poor shunned them as poison love apples. It is not known if they feared death or lust.

Wolf-Peach? That is cool...which ties to the fruit in vegetables clothing thing I thought about but didn't write about.

Lust leads to death?

Two schools of thought on what people in early America thought about tomatoes. (poison love apples)

1. Fatal poison
2. Very powerful aphrodisiac

So not sure if they feared lust or death

for the prostitute reduces you to a loaf of bread,
and the adulteress preys upon your very life.

Watch out for those poison love apples, who knows what could happen under their evil influence!

Haha! I love tomatoes! They're amazing on sandwiches.

I like the bit about the large red shirt though...funny. =)

I don't know what I am. I guess I'll have to think some more.

That's easy, Lilly...you're a peach!

LOL... this entry just made me giggle.

I have no idea what kind of veggie I would be, so I chose not to answer this. Maybe a carrot... but only because I like them.

Giggles are always a good thing. Glad you liked it!
