Can't Keep Them All

I got too many books.  They are everywhere.  I got books on shelves, lots of shelves, I've got books in baskets, books in boxes, books in piles, and I'll bet there are some books buried under some green eggs and ham, said Sam I Am...

I've got book in a closet, books in a trunk, books in cabinets, books in drawers (but not with my drawers) and books almost everywhere I look.  I never thought the notion of too many books would descend on my home or my life.  But it has.  I've got too many of them...

What is really troubling is that I've been cleaning out the books for several years now.  But no matter how many go out, it seems they are breeding like rabbits or mice when my back is turned because there are more books than there was when I started.  And I can't keep them all!

Then...there are too many comic books as well...but that's another subject for another day.

Hospitals have book carts they bring around to patient's rooms. I bet the volunteers would love to have some of your books. All kinds of people have to spend time in a hospital. They would read all kinds of books.

I know. I was just lamenting the fact that while the house is being inundated with books, I am unable to keep them all. Most of them are worthy of being kept, but not all are able to be kept by me.

I tend to take my books to the local used book store. That way, I can get more books.

Hey Mark, how did you change the name of your comments? I'd really like to know if you're willing to share how to do it! I love what you changed it to! =)

Look under the customization of your theme...text...

How very cool! I like that. It's also kind of humbling that something I wrote inspired someone else.

I've been brutal in my previous book purges, and I know I will be again. I love books. Always have. Books are like comfort food without the calories. Oddly enough, they still take up space...

Does't soud like a problem. Sounds more like heaven.

Unless they are so much in the way that your wife complains (with justification, I might add).

There is a fine line between bibliographic heaven and mass chaos. I think I passed that exit a while ago.

FWIW, I was at Barnes & Noble last night and bought more books...

HAHAHAHA. I love you. I have a couple B&N gift certs i need to use.

This just doesn't seem like a problem to me.. Perhaps it should be rephrased to "I don't have enough bookshelves".. There, doesn't that feel better? :-)
